Flavours of Japan 'Oishii JAPAN'
New to MasterChef Live for 2009 are 'Flavours of Japan' by Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. This is a part of the Japan-UK series of 150 events, which celebrate 150 years of trade between Japan and Great Britain. These features bring an amazing gastronomic experience to the Show with the aims of demonstrating the ease of producing Japanese cuisine at home. Global creative leaders in Japanese culinary flavours and skills will be on hand to educate our audience:
The Oishii Pavillion hosts a unique shopping experience including; The Japan Sake Brewers Association brings a variety of leading sake manufacturers for tastings and eduction, a leading Japanese restaurant will be providing taster size portions of the very best food available in London and a demonstration stage will host some of the very best Japanese chefs including the celebrated Harumi Kurihara and Ichiro Kubota (UMV)
The London Sushi Academy will be holding masterclasses, giving visitors the opportunity to learn the art of making sushi at home. 5 classes will explore the ease of this process and the basic skills and ingredients required to wow guests at your next dinner party.
The final piece of activity presents a unique opportunity. MasterChef Live is proud to host the 'Eat-Japan Sushi Awards' sponsored by Kikkoman and other leading Japanese food companies, on Saturday 14th November. Seven of the world's best Sushi Samurai come together to compete for the coveted prize of Sushi Master of the year 2009. The awards offer the opportunity for visitors to play a part in the judging process by sampling every contender's sushi entry and casting their vote to decide the winner.
