How clean is your kitchen?
Want to wow your guests?
Plenty discovers there is more to it than just great food …
So you fancy yourself as a bit of an entertainer? Do you spend hours creating fabulous recipes and delicious dinner parties? As much as your guests will no doubt enjoy the food it is important to remember one of the most important elements of entertaining – a clean and inviting home! Plenty, the nation’s leading household towel, recently commissioned some research into the nation’s attitudes to cleaning and entertaining and the results are surprising
Plenty has got together with cleaning gurus Kim Woodburn and Aggie Mackenzie to give you some top tips for sprucing up your homes in preparation for guests.
Kim’s Top Tips:
· Entertaining can mean nasty spills and stains on your carpets. To remove these mop up as much of the spill as you can with a sheet of Plenty and smack them with the flat of your hand to soak up the stain, until you see it fading. Then take a sheet of Plenty and put it in cold water – lay it flat on the stain and smack with the flat of your hand. Then use dry Plenty and stamp on it to soak up the water. Don’t wait until the stain is dry or it will take you four times longer – clean as it happens and you can’t go wrong!
· Candlelight sets a great atmosphere for a relaxed dinner party but can also leads to unwanted waxy drips on your dining table. To remove candle wax from wood, heat an iron and cut a piece of brown parcel paper and put the soft side on the wood. Place a sheet of Plenty on top of the parcel paper and take the hot iron and just tickle it on to the paper, hardly touching it so as not to spoil the wood – don’t press hard! You will see the wax has been absorbed by the parcel paper.
· To ensure your dining table sparkles you need immaculate glassware. Wash your glasses in a plastic bowl in your sink with a little washing up liquid. For the final rinse use warm water with a couple of drops of vinegar then gently buff with Plenty.
Aggie’s Top Tips:
· You don’t want to spoil a lovely meal by looking at a filthy window covered in bird poo! To get rid of nasty bird poo stains, wipe away using a sheet of Plenty, moistened with vinegar, wipe away and dry with a fresh sheet.
