Launceston Place Overview
Launceston place is an ideal retreat from busy kensington. Tucked away in a quiet residential street, the restaurant has recently been refurbished creating a modern interior in a space which has the feel of a country house.
The intimate walnut floored bar with its bespoke chandelier provides a welcoming entrance to the restaurant and a place to enjoy champagne and canapes before dinner.
The restaurant, with its high ceilings and luxurious carets, serves an elegant british menu with the personal touch of a very talented chef, Tristan Welch. Dishes include: hand-dived scallops cooked on a hot stone with wild sorrel, suckling pig with creamed onions and warm potato salad and brown bread parfait with spiced Mayan chocolate.
The "chef's office", a private room situated next to the kitchen, offers views of the kitchen on a plasma screen and seats up to 10 people.
