Drinks at MasterChef LIVE
Festive drinks for a delicious winter
Winter is the perfect time for getting together with friends and family to share a drink as festive season begins. The BBC Good Food Shows are the ultimate showcase for the best drinks of the season, with a huge array of tipples to taste and buy, leaving no excuse not to have a plentiful drinks cabinet for the year ahead.
Toast the Fine Wines, Beers and Spirits Area at the BBC Good Food Show Scotland, 30 October – 1 November 2009 SECC Glasgow
With Christmas around the corner this is the chance to sample a mellow Scotch whisky, a sharply reviving gin or a glass of smooth, heady red or white wine. There are drinks from all corners of the world. There will also be a guide to knowing which wine goes best with a spicy starter or a tangy cheese, with a series of Drinks Master Classes. Hosted by wine expert Tom Forrest, they will be packed with information, advice and plenty of chances to taste the wines of the world.
NEW! The Co-Op Tasting sessions will offer visitors the opportunity to discover delicious, great value wines, available from local shops.
Wine wisdom to make heads turn at MasterChef Live, 13 – 15 November 2009 | Olympia London
There’s a huge selection of drinks from all over the world to try here with plenty of expert advice on what to buy for Christmas lunch, New Year parties or just for sipping with friends. Visitors can buy a glass and enjoy it with lunch from The Ivy, Le Caprice or Daphne’s in The Restaurant Experience. Under the guidance of experts visitors can sip and spit their way through a selection of wines to enjoy with each course.
Raise your glass to the BBC Good Food Show Birmingham, 25 – 29 November 2009 | NEC Birmingham
Finding the right wine to complement food can be confusing but with help from our wine experts, including Oz Clarke and Sarah Jane Evans in the Drinks Theatre it becomes much clearer (places can be reserved for £2.50).
NEW! Tasting Beers Live showcases the best beers from the 2009 World Beer Awards winners, a live stage, food and beer combinations, beer tastings and much more. Plus, guests can be the first to taste the winners of the 2009 World Cider Awards. Whether ale, lager or stout, American, British or Belgian, Tasting Beers Live will challenge the palate and introduce some of the finest beers in the world. (Add entrance to this area to the Show ticket for £5)
NEW! Wine Heroes focuses solely on boutique wine producers and distributors, the perfect place to find something unique for a special treat
With all this, and more, there’s no excuse to have an empty drinks cabinet or wine cellar this winter
